After a brief stint at the School of Fine Arts in Casablanca and two years at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in the Department of Drawing and Printmaking, Mounir Fatmi finished his studies at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam.
His work develops according to a rhizomatic system of values, where the inscription is like a network of connections. With his critical view on contemporary realities and illusions, he states that the only way to read this is in the context of complexities and of confusion as to the ways to approach it.
